Ernest E. Dakin's Obituary
DAKIN, Ernest E., loving and caring, age 71, of Waynesville, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at her Hospice of Dayton.
Ernest graduated from Waynesville High School, class of ‘67. He retired as a foreman from ODOT after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Waynesville First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Waynesville American Legion- SAL, where he will be remembered for his orneriness and his love of having a good time.
Ernest was a hard worker, yet always found time for his favorite pastime of raising game fowl. One of the family’s favorite memories will be of him saying “ba hum bug” during the Christmas season.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Anna Marie Dakin. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sharon; three sons Stan (Laura) Jordan, Sean (Mary) Jordan, and Matthew Dakin; one daughter Angila Dakin; eight grandchildren Caitlyn, Megan, Grace, Mya, Savannah, Adam, Marshawn, and Timmy; two great grandchildren Tristan and Jacob; and one brother Gary (Nancy) Dakin.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 12 at Waynesville First Baptist Church. Pastor Dale McCloud will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Saturday at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family.
