Evaline Fairchild's Obituary
Fairchild, Evaline, age 80, of Waynesville, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Quaker Heights Nursing Home in Waynesville.
Evaline worked several years for Monarch Marking and officially retired in 1977. She was a faithful member of the Dodds Pentecostal Church in Waynesville. In addition, she spent more than 30 years volunteering at Quaker Heights to make people smile and feel valued.
Generous and giving her entire life, Evaline had a bubbly, funny, caring, and friendly personality to all who knew her. She never hesitated to lend money or assistance to those in need. She will be remembered for assisting friends with electric bills, paying for braces for children, and assisting with funeral funds for those less fortunate. Family was her life. She greatly enjoyed attending church, visiting people, and taking road trips in the car for fun. It became a tradition for her and Lynn, and many other family and friends who would join, to travel to Kentucky to visit family, visit Amish Country regularly, and trips to Kansas to admire the corn growing along the roadways. While mainly a hobby of Lynn, Evaline grew to appreciate tractors, both full-size and toy versions. She and Lynn had their own tractors and participated in the Corwin Tractor Show each year. Of particular note, she was instrumental in establishing and keeping the Tractor Show going with her endless support. Evaline was very Patriotic, always showing her support for our country with the use of flags. She will be remembered for how much she showed her love to family and friends by delivering some delicious sugar cookies she often made to give away. Most importantly, however, she will be remembered for how much she loved children, especially babies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn, in 2018; her parents, Lewis and Mary Lamb; four brothers, Eddie, Earl, Boyd, and Ray Lamb; and nine sisters, Bernice Lamb, Maxine Lamb, Bessie Fouch, Louise Brixey, Marie Isaacs, Orline Estes, and Stella Preston. She is survived by one brother, Harold Lamb; one sister, Elsie Stephens; her sister-in-law, Helen Miller; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
The family will receive friends 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, September 20, at Dodds Pentecostal Church in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery in Corwin. Jay Osborn will be officiating the services. A funeral service in Evaline’s honor will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at the church. If desired, contributions may be made to Ohio Living Quaker Heights Activities Fund or the Miami Cemetery Association, which Evaline proudly supported. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
