Evelyn Jean Sackett's Obituary
Sackett, Evelyn Jean, 81 of Waynesville passed away Thurs. Sept. 8, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her children. She was the fifth of six children born to Marc and Irma Wilson. A lifelong resident of Waynesville, Jean was blessed with family and many close friends and neighbors. She graduated from Waynesville High School in 1947. A member of the Waynesville Alumni Assoc., she had 64 years of perfect attendance at the annual banquet. As a Bridge Master and ruthless Euchre player, games were a staple of the many family gatherings that were held at the big yellow brick house on North Street. She was preceded in death by her husband John Perry in 1990.
She is survived by five children, Fonda of Cary, NC, Teri, John (Ramona) & Tom (Darla) all of Waynesville and Ron (Pam) of Midland, Mi; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and her sister Virginia Hinger of Dayton. The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Wed. Sept. 14 at Crossview Christian Church. Waynesville. Services 11 AM Thurs. Sept. 15 at the church with Pastor Randy Snyder presiding. Burial will be at Miami Cemetery immediately following the service. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville is serving the family.
