Farrel Bradley's Obituary
BRADLEY, Farrel, age 92, of Waynesville, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at his residence.
Farrel honorably served in the U. S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. In addition, he was a faithful member and 30-year trustee of the Dodds Pentecostal Church in Waynesville. Growing up in Kentucky, he left home at an early age and moved to Ohio. In addition to serving our country in the military, he worked 30 years for GM and lived long enough after his retirement in 1977 to earn a retirement check longer than he worked for the company.
Hardworking and kindhearted, Farrel weighed his words before he spoke. He was mannerly and respectful, with a regimented personality that he carried back from his military days. He spent his mornings waking early, enjoying coffee with his breakfast, reading his Bible, and walking several miles for exercise. He instilled in his family that an employer should receive a hard day’s work each day.
Farrel was a craftsman, mechanically inclined, and enjoyed working with his hands. He built the house he owned and lived in for most of his life and assisted his church in its original building project. In addition, he performed extensive renovation projects over the years, including other church projects. In his free time, he also enjoyed woodworking and working on cars. In fact, he had a lifelong appreciation for automobiles. He also enjoyed gardening with his wife and became known for having grand gardens and a willingness to share with family and friends. Also, with his loving wife, they enjoyed numerous trips to Florida to visit Farrel’s sister and brother-in-law, trips out west, and stays in Gatlinburg. However, family dinners at home and church activities became the traditions that Farrel was most fond of. While always humble, he was always proud of what he accomplished in his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geniece, in June of this year; his parents, Dudley and Emma Bradley; and daughter-in-law Charlotte Bradley. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Coffman; two sons, Michael Bradley and Edward Bradley; three grandchildren, Bradley (Crystal) Coffman, Bethanie Coffman-McCoy, and Rebecca Bradley; five great-grandchildren, Maya McCoy, Keaton McCoy, Emma Coldiron, Ella Coldiron, and Sophia Moeller; one sister Margaret Pelfrey; and sister-in-law, Sheila (Bob) Barger.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, December 10, at Dodds Pentecostal Church, Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin, with full military honors. Pastor Jay Osborn will be officiating the services. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Saturday at the church. If desired, contributions may be made to Dodds Pentecostal Church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
