Faye L. Roark's Obituary
ROARK, Faye Louise, age 82, of Waynesville, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Stoney Ridge Senior Living facility in Miamisburg.
Faye dedicated more than 30 years of her life to working as a hairstylist at various hair salons, where her warm personality and caring heart helped her build lasting friendships with those she served. She enjoyed doing her daughter’s hair and several other family members and friends well into her 80’s. She was a faithful member of Waynesville Community Church and loved the Lord deeply. Faye’s life was a testimony to her faith, which she shared generously, offering encouragement or praying with and for others. She was truly a prayer warrior whose kindness, compassion, and giving spirit touched countless lives. She was very active in her church, loved her Sunday School class, helped with VBS each year, and assisted in the kitchen, nursery, and various other ministries.
Faye had a creative soul and was an incredibly talented seamstress and crafter. She especially loved quilting, sewing, and creating beautiful handmade items for those she loved. Holidays and family gatherings were among her greatest joys, and she cherished preparing meals, hosting loved ones at home, and making everyone feel welcome and cared for. Above all else, Faye adored her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, church family, and friends. She especially treasured spending time with her family and supporting whatever activities brought them happiness. Her warm heart, wisdom, and loving nature made her someone others naturally turned to for comfort and encouragement.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Ray Roark, in 2019; her father, Virgil Chaffin; her mother, Louise Lyons; her brothers, Johnnie Chaffin and Leo Chaffin; and her sister, Mildred Chaffin. She is survived by her son, Stephen Ray (Stephanie) Roark; her daughter, Sherry (Tim) Hill; seven grandchildren, Andrew Hill, John (Brittney) Hill, Stephen (Moriah) Hill, Lindsey Roark, Dustin (Malina) Roark, Toby Roark (Mary Madison), and Sam (Nicky) Hanzlik; eight great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Brynson Faye, Landon, Elizabeth Jo, Raylan, Lincoln, Cameron, and Theodore; two sisters, Kathryn Gilbert and Mary Rhim; a niece who was very much like a second daughter, Deborah Louise Ruef; and many more extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be at 12 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Dr. Todd Hill will be officiating. Burial will be at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens in Centerville. The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to the Waynesville Community Church towards their VBS program, which was something very dear to Faye’s heart.
