Flora Y. Wells' Obituary
WELLS, Flora Y., age 82, of Wilmington and formerly of Morrow, went home to be with the Lord Mon. Dec. 10, 2018.
As a pastor’s wife, Flora was very active at the Clarksville Pentecostal Church of God. Among the many activities, she taught Sunday school and often sang during services.
With a quietly strong personality, she loved to serve and celebrate with others. As a gifted cake decorator, she made elaborate cakes for many people over the years. She was a great seamstress and greatly enjoyed cooking, reading, and creating items from stained glass. For many years, she also enjoyed raising Rottweiler dogs. In her younger days, she ran a postal route in Cincinnati. Some of the family’s favorite memories were created with her during the family trips throughout the United States, their favorites being the fishing trips to Lake Erie and a trip to New Mexico. She will be remembered for her love of hummingbirds, gold finches, dogs, sweet foods, and especially for her immense love of her grandchildren.
She was preceded death by her parents Cecil and Clara Hays; one brother George Joe Hays; her sister Susie Johnson; and eight infant siblings. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Pastor Charles A. Wells; son Brian Wells; two daughters Bonita (Danny) Flinders and Stephanie Wells; three grandchildren Shannon (Amanda) Bear, Daniel Flinders (Michelle), and Cheston Flinders; four great grandchildren Jacob, Bailey, Cole, and Abigail; and one brother Marvin (Janeane) Hays.
The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Fri. Dec. 14 at the Clarksville Pentecostal Church of God. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Sat. at the church. Pastor John Henson will be officiating. Burial will be in Clarksville Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made directly to the family toward funeral and headstone expenses. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
