Forester Wendell Ferguson Sr.'s Obituary
FERGUSON, Forester Wendell, Sr., age 80, of Lebanon and formerly of Waynesville, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023, at his residence.
Wendell worked as a technician for Emergency TV Electronics for all of his working career. He was a member of Sure Foundation Ministries in Harveysburg.
Caring, giving, friendly, and intelligent, Wendell was extremely outgoing who knew just about everyone. He was a computer whiz who knew his way around the guts of electronics and computers, building many of them to spec. A private pilot, he greatly enjoyed flying, especially Cessna airplanes. He often hung around Red Stewart Airfield in Waynesville where he trained and was a member of the Sky Center Flying Club. He also enjoyed flying model airplanes. He tinkered around with Ham radio and was known as 8O4 on CB radio. Multi-talented, he played electric guitar and the keyboard for fun. In addition, he owned and enjoyed several motorcycles over the years including a Honda 125 dirt bike when he was young, a Honda Shadow 750, and Yamaha and Kawasaki bikes.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lillie Kate Ferguson; two sons, Forester Wendell “Bowie” Ferguson and John Wesley Ferguson; four daughters, Tina Kilburn, Jamie (Elgie) Alexander, Diann (Grant) Alexander, and Tonya (Richard) Egan; step son, Andy Lamb; 12 grandchildren, Siara, Rebekah, Rocky, Candi, Tyler, Destiny, Brooke, Gracie, Faith, Charity, and Consuelo; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dinzell (Linda) Ferguson, Coye (Cathy) Ferguson, and Larry Wayne Ferguson; and his sister, Loretta (Brad) Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forester and Gracie Ferguson, and his former wife, Brenda Sue Cook.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, January 6, at Sure Foundation Ministries in Harveysburg. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Pastor Jimmy Lamb will be officiating.
