Frank Walter Bishop's Obituary
BISHOP, Frank Walter, age 74, of Arcadia, Florida and formerly of Waynesville, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021. Frank was born August 27, 1946 to Grover and Mattie Bishop of Lebanon.
Loving, caring, and hard working, Frank greatly enjoyed attending car shows and traveling. His travels began with regular camping trips in the early years, followed by trips in his RV as the years progressed. His favorite place to camp and RV was the Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee. In addition to camping, Frank also enjoyed taking ocean cruises with his wife.
Frank retired from General Electric in 2009 after 23 years of service. After retirement, he and his wife became Florida snowbirds and loved it so much that they made it a permanent residence. He loved living in Florida, enjoying the warm weather, the tropical atmosphere, and his new found friends. Among many things, he will be remembered for his unique collection of Hess gas station toy trucks and Pez dispensers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers Herman Hopkins, Sherman Hopkins, Eddie Bishop, and Larry Bishop. He is survived by his wife of 55 1/2 years, Elaine; two daughters Teresa (Terrance) Stewart and Kim Gierzak; and four grandchildren Andy (Leslie) Wiley, Katelyn Wiley, Erica Gierzak, and Sammie Gierzak.
The family will receive friends 5 - 8 PM Thursday, July 1 at Well of Grace Church in Lebanon. A funeral service will be 11 AM Friday at the church. Pastor Bruce Lamb will be officiating the services. Burial will follow the services at Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. If desired and in Frank’s memory, contributions may be made to Well of Grace Church. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
