Frank Mackoway's Obituary
MACKOWAY, Frank L. age 77 of Waynesville passed away peacefully Tues. Dec. 23, 2014 at Quaker Heights Care Community, Waynesville. Frank was a Cold War veteran and served in the United States Coast Guard, Army, and Air Force. He was a member of the Waynesville American Legion. Frank previously worked as a teacher for NCR, an employee of the Centerville Kroger’s, and retired as a computer analysis for IITC and Nortel. He greatly enjoyed working outside, being with family and friends, and helping others. He was preceded in death by his wife Connie; daughter Megan Mackoway; his parents Frank and Ida “Babe” Mackoway; and stepmother Barbara Mackoway. He is survived by his daughter Katie Mackoway (Robert Young) of Waynesville; brother Michael Mackoway (Mary Kelch) of Peoria, IL; two sisters Bonnilyn Mackoway of Creve Coeur, IL and Carol (Michael) Ditch of Washburn, IL; and special friends Galen Williams of East Peoria, IL and Sharon & Jiles Farley of Waynesville. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Sat. May 23 at Bonnybrook Farms, Clarksville. Pastor Brian Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends 12 pm - 2 pm Sat. Jan. 10 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville and again 12 pm - 1 pm Sat. May 23 at Bonnybrook. If desired, contributions may be made to National Museum of the United States Air Force.
