Gary L. Green's Obituary
GREEN, Gary L., age 62, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Atrium Medical Center.
A longtime resident of Franklin, Gary had a passion for automobiles starting at a young age. He appreciated the mechanics of cars and took great pride in working on his two beloved Ford Mustangs. Gary connected with others through his love of cars, forming a special friendship with his mechanic. He had no deeper bond than with his late brother, Terry, whom he admired in many ways. Gary often had his faithful beagle, Penny, by his side, and the two enjoyed countless drives to Miamisburg. Crains Run Nature Park became their go-to spot for a walk in the outdoors. A true bargain hunter at heart, Gary frequented garage sales and flea markets for fun. He treasured his collections of hats, Western memorabilia, and DVDs. Quiet and humble in nature, Gary loved the comforts of home, but he also held a special place in his heart for Pleasant View, Kentucky, which he fondly referred to as God’s country. He was always at peace in the scenic, open landscapes of the Appalachian Region.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Teddy and Gertrude Green; one brother, Terry Gibson; one sister, Brenda Young; his niece, Lucille Lucarello; and his nephew, Paul Lucarello. He is survived by his sister, Linda (Terry) Pilcher; and one nephew, Rex (Kristine) Mustaine.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Thursday, October 10, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A celebration of life service will immediately follow the visitation at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Gary’s preacher friend, Joe, will be officiating the service. If desired, contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation in Gary’s honor. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
