Gary L. Hymer's Obituary
HYMER, Gary L., age 65, of Lebanon, passed away Mon. July 23, 2018 at Kettering Hospital.
Gary worked approximately 25 years for Allis-Chalmers in Norwood and officially retired in 2017 from Moyno in Springfield after several more years of work. He was a member of the Lighthouse Harbor Free Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lebanon and the NRA.
Outgoing, caring, and a friend to everyone, Gary loved to entertain and make people laugh. Since an early age, he greatly enjoyed playing his guitar. He also enjoyed golf, fishing, and hunting over the years. In the past several years, he enjoyed family trips to Ormond Beach in Florida, where he would wake up early to take pictures of the sunrise and go deep sea fishing. He drank coffee all day long and took every opportunity he could to enjoy apple pie and challenge himself and others to the spiciest foods he could find.
He was preceded in death by his father Wilburne Hymer and one sister Joyce Hymer. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathy; son Aaron Hymer; daughter Crystal (Nathan) Wessel; four grandchildren Kaylee, Devin, Xander, and Noah; his mother Opal Hymer; one brother Danny (Karen) Hymer; and one sister Sue (Herb) Hammiel.
Funeral services will be held Noon Sat. July 28 at the Lighthouse Harbor Free Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lebanon. Pastor Larry Isaacs will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Fri. at Lighthouse Harbor Church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family.
