Gerald "Jerry" A. Metz's Obituary
METZ, Gerald "Jerry" A. age 66 of Jamestown passed away Fri. Nov. 13, 2009 at the Greene Memorial Hospital. Jerry retired from DP&L in 1990 after 27 years of service. He is a member of the Liberty Worship Center in Xenia where he dedicated his life to Jesus. He enjoyed collecting coins and baseball cards, fishing, playing cards, mushroom hunting, all things outdoors, and spending time with his family He was preceded in death by one grandson Kyle Smalley and his parents Horace and Bernice Metz. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley; four daughters Connie (Tim) Harner, Lisa Metz, Debbie Smalley all of Xenia, and Sherri Brittingham of Jamestown; nine grandchildren Sarah, Ashley, Justin, Brittney, Halley, Madyson, Austin, Colton, and Cameron; two brothers Ray (Ann) Metz of KY and Tom (Diane) Metz of Centerville; and one sister Karen (Ted) Lowry of Waynesville. Funeral services Noon Thurs. Nov. 19 at the Liberty Worship Center in Xenia. Pastor Gene Martin officiating. Burial New Burlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10 AM-Noon Thurs. at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family.
