Glenna F. Barnhart-Cole's Obituary
BARNHART-COLE, Glenna F., age 79, of Lebanon, and formerly of South Lebanon, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, at Hidden Springs Senior Living in Springboro.
Glenna retired from Amtex in Lebanon after 20 years of service as a technician.
Glenna was known for her vibrant personality, bubbly nature, and zest for life. She prioritized church and spending time with her family and close friends. Glenna loved the peace she found in quilting, hiking, and camping. She also embraced the excitement of shopping, eating at her favorite restaurants, and watching live entertainment. Trips to her favorite stores, such as Macy’s, Kohl's, and Stein Mart, were often followed by a meal at Firebirds, Montgomery Inn, or Cracker Barrel. Glenna also enjoyed attending shows at La Comedia. Travel was another of Glenna's passions. She especially enjoyed her Viking Cruise to Ireland with her husband, Darrell, which became one of her most treasured experiences. Glenna also loved experiencing Amish Country and made a point to visit numerous times over the years.
Glenna was preceded in death by her former husband, Clifford H. Barnhart, in 2005; her more recent husband, Darrell Cole, in 2017; her parents, Earl and Leona Parks; one brother, Earl Parks Jr.; and one niece, Renee. She is survived by one sister, Phyllis Hughes; three brothers, Larry Parks, Jacky Parks, and Ron (Diane) Parks; special niece, Leslie Tekulve; close cousin, Darlene Rose Higgins; best friends, Karen Kemper and Peggy Putich; and several others extended family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 19, at Deerfield Cemetery in Union Township. Karen Kemper will be officiating the service.
