Harold R. Baker's Obituary
BAKER, Harold R. age 85 of Bellbrook died Sat. Dec. 2, 2006. A retired tool maker, he was co-owner of Jade Tool in Xenia. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the Crossview (Ferry) Christian Church. Harold was an avid camper, horseshoe pitcher, bowler, golfer, shuffleboard and volleyball player into his late 70’s, until his body was overcome by Parkinson’s disease. He was preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Mary Viola (Brown) Baker; his first wife Martha; brothers Norman, Herbert, Berlin, and Loren Baker; and his sister Gladys Hern. He is survived by his second wife Mabel; children Gary Baker, Beverly (Mike) Barrett, Pat (John) Shoemaker, Dan (Sheila) Baker; stepdaughters Jane (Steve) Stewart, Susan (Steve) Williamson, Debra (Rick) Ruble, Patti (Chris) Petschulat; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Pat Baker; sister Lillian Amos; sister-in-law Ethel Baker; 27 grandchildren Stephanie and Bobbi Jo Baker, Jared (Sheri), Jamie, Jessica, Joseph Shoemaker, Andy, Brittany, Courtney, Dustin Baker, Rachel, Mark, and Brittany Barrett, Jason (Emily) and Jaime Praeter, Steve (Emily) and Jon Stewart, Amy Burd, Sally (John) Skerl, Sara (Rick) Benge, Steve (Sarah Beth) Williamson, Leah, Annie, Holly, Gabrielle Josiah, Micah Ruble, and Eric (Kelli) Campbell; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and camping, bowling, and church friends. Funeral Services 10 A.M. Tues. Dec. 5 at the Crossview Christian Church, Waynesville. Pastor Hugh Hurley officiating. Harold will be buried next to his first wife Martha in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Brookville. The family will receive friends 5-8 P.M. Mon. at the church. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville is serving the family.
