Herbert "Herb" A. Rooks' Obituary
ROOKS, Herbert "Herb" A. age 65, of Wilmington and formerly of Harveysburg, passed away Wed. May 31, 2017.
Herb retired from Ernst Concrete in 2014 after more than 30 years of service. He was a family oriented man with an incredible work ethic. Additional traits that describe Herb include humble, frugal, a great sense of humor, and a desire to make all things in his life as perfect as possible. He had a passion for old cars, building several from the ground up. Christmas time was his favorite holiday and he was known for going all out to make each year an incredible time for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Marjorie Rooks. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Shelia; son John (Amanda) Rooks; two daughters Angella Fields and Mindi Rooks; four grandchildren Tabatha Fields, Emily Drake, Kevin Noe, and Dylan Rooks; one great grandchild Zader Drake; three sisters Donna (Willie) Hensley, Brenda Rooks, and Karen Bolin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services 1 PM Sat. June 3 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Jason Faulkner will be officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Sat. at the funeral home. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
