CARNES, Howard “Bud” L., age 84, of Waynesville, passed away Tues. April 16, 2019 at Ohio Living Quaker Heights in Waynesville.
When Bud was younger, he worked several years at his father’s Gulf station and several more years at Dunham’s hatchery, both located in Waynesville. He officially retired after working nearly 20 years at Hometown Market Place in Waynesville.

When he was younger, he greatly enjoyed playing darts and even participated in dart leagues. He also appreciated old cars and attended several car shows over the years. He was very patriotic and spent a great deal of his free time reading old western novels or watching war history programs on tv. He especially enjoyed watching his granddaughter participate in rodeos and one memorable trip to Cincinnati to watch an OMNIMAX program about war history titled Normandy.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Bonnie in 1998 and more recently by his wife Shirley in 2015; one son Tim Carnes; an infant daughter; a granddaughter Taylor; and his parents Howard “Red” and Anna Carnes.
