Howard R. Holland's Obituary
HOLLAND, Howard R. age 85, of Waynesville, passed away Sun. July 2, 2017 at Quaker Heights Care Community in Waynesville. Howard was a Korean War Army veteran. He greatly enjoyed baseball, especially the Reds, and was the softball coach for his daughter’s team. He also had a passion for working on cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Elenore Holland; one brother George Holland; eight brothers-in-law Elger Neeley, Coy (Tootsie) Neeley, Garland Neeley, Harold Neeley, Clayborn (Doris) Neeley, Jesse Neeley, Hubert (Maurine) Smith, and Gene Philhower; and two sisters Betty (Chuck) Ruffner and Dot Gibson. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen; four daughters Teresa Holland, Rhonda (Dana) Combs, Jennifer (Darrell) McIntosh, Gayle (Stephen) Holland; six grandchildren Dustin, Courtney (Mike), Samantha, Hunter, Morgan, and Sadie; two brothers Lewis (Barb) Holland and Ronnie (Katherine) Holland; brother-in-law Tennessee Gibson; three sisters Joann (Bob) Sturgill, Jeanette Philhower, Marie (Paul) Redman; sister-in-law Velva Neeley; several nieces and nephews; and close friend Tim Howard. The family will receive friends 4 pm – 7 pm Fri. at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 7 pm Fri., July 7 at the funeral home.
