Howard "Bud" J. Stebbins' Obituary
STEBBINS, Howard “Bud” J., age 92, of Waynesville and formerly of Lakeland, Florida, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Miami Valley Hospital.
Bud honorably served our country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Marines and Air Force, mainly as a gunner on a B29. He retired after working 25 years as a salesman for AAA Insurance. In addition, he was a member of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution.
Kind, caring, loving, and strong-willed, Bud cared immensely for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cars were his passion, especially classic cars that he loved to restore and work on. A ’66 Ford Mustang Convertible was his favorite car that he cherished. He also enjoyed travel. He always spoke fondly about the numerous overseas trips, ocean cruises, and one particular trip through the Panama Canal via cruise line. During 911, he was in London and had tickets to ride the big London Eye, which he never got to use due to the enhanced security at the time. When his kids were younger, he took them on numerous camping trips via travel trailer to such places as Florida, South Dakota, and Colorado, which became one of his more memorable traditions.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally, in 2021; son-in-law, Bill Kesling; his parents, Howard and Claire Stebbins; and his brother, Robert Stebbins. He is survived by three children, Debbie Kesling, Carol (Dan) Kuczek, and Guy Stebbins; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Private family services. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Burial will be in Dayton National Cemetery. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
