My mother and I were saddened that we did not hear of Hugh's death until today.
We looked forward to his Sunday calls, and
prior to the Masonic Home, his visits.
My grandmother (my mother's mother) was
Mildred Burnet Surface, daughter of
Stephen and Adelaide Burnet. Hugh was a
friend to my great uncle Robert -and they shared the Thackara middle name!
I am sorry I did not get the Burnet family
genealogy to Hugh as I have traced it
in direct lineage to the 11th century
on the Scottish/English border.
Hugh was a fine man, who loved his family, and shared many stories with my
