Imogene "Jean" F. Lamb's Obituary
LAMB, Imogene “Jean” F., age 87, of Waynesville, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at Ohio Living Quaker Heights. She was born October 30, 1933 to George and Ella Mae Fields in London, Kentucky.
Jean earned an Associate’s Degree in Registered Nursing from Sinclair Community College. Following getting her degree, she worked several years for Kettering Medical Center. She was a tremendous nurse, due to her concern for everyone around her.
She was a member of the Waynesville Garden Club and took numerous cooking and art classes. As a perfectionist, Jean was always paying close attention to details. She collected cookbooks and took culinary classes that were instructed by Chef Emeril Lagasse. Her favorite items to make were chocolate cakes, cheesecakes, and chili. She loved the Christmas season, everything from cooking to the decorating. She also enjoyed creating artwork from oils, chalk, and watercolors. In her spare time, she would adventure out to Caesar’s Creek Lake and Cowan Lake for kayaking. Jean enjoyed getting dressed up and wearing hats out on the town, which grew into quite a collection of hats.
She was a member of New Freedom Church in Lebanon. She felt the most inspiring part of her life was her church involvement, which was truly a blessing to her. Above everything, Jean will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, her personal mission to help the needy, and her devotion of praising the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Edith Lewis and Nora Nelson, and sister-in-law Lynn Fields. She is survived and missed deeply by her husband of 66 years, Harold; one son Timothy “Tim” Lamb; one daughter Angela (Robert) Griffen; granddaughter Anna Griffen; two brothers Steve Fields and Dale M. Murphy; four sisters Geneva Moffat, Pauline Miller, Freda (Fred) Mocahbe, and Sandra Hadley; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, August 11 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Pastor Joe Shutts will be officiating. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to American Heart Association and/or American Lung Association.
