Jack Warren Murphy Jr.'s Obituary
MURPHY, Jack W. Jr., age 70, of Waynesville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Jack honorably served in the United States Marine Corps and attended school for a certificate in heating and air conditioning. He spent over 40 years working as a truck driver for a variety of different companies. He was a dedicated member of the Waynesville Masonic Lodge #163, a lifelong member of the Waynesville American Legion Post 615, and a member of the American Legion Riders.
Jack truly enjoyed the freedom of the open road, especially while riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He loved spending time in the garage working with his hands on his cars or bikes, smoking a cigarette, and listening to music. Jack was known as a true jack-of-all-trades; there was very little he could not fix or figure out.
Jack will be remembered as a hardworking man with a great sense of humor. Talkative and caring, Jack was known for being trustworthy and kindhearted, always ready with a joke or a conversation. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family and was especially proud of his son and granddaughter.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Warren Murphy Sr. and Mary Jo Murphy. Jack is survived by his son, Shawn (Crystal) Murphy, and his two grandchildren, Jordan and Riley.
A celebration of life gathering will begin at 6 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Waynesville American Legion Post 615. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at https://www.stubbsconner.com.
