James Bishop's Obituary
Bishop, James Russell age 69 of Arizona and formerly of Dayton passed away Tues. Feb. 21, 2012 after a yearlong battle with Leukemia. He was a Korean Conflict veteran. He was a member of the American Legion, 36 year member of the ATA, and a licensed coast guard captain. He retired from Delphi after 18 years of service. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He excelled in each of these activities but more importantly made countless lifelong friends while pursuing his hobbies. He was preceded in death by his parents Urban Russell and Violet Bishop. He leaves behind his family and many friends who will forever cherish him in their hearts. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Janet; children Kelly (Keith) Caprio, Shari Horner, Jennifer Jones, and James Jr. (Jennifer) Bishop; two step children Jason and Brian Vangel; four grandchildren Krystal (Joshua), Chanel, Nikki, and Taylor; great grandson Elijah; three sisters Shirley (Walter), Joyce, and Janet; mother-in-law Marianne Zimmer; two brothers-in-law William (Cathy) and James Zimmer; special friend Mary McCurdy; and many nieces, nephews, and extended friends. Funeral services 11AM Mon. Feb. 27 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Burial Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Sun. at the funeral home.
