James "Jim" R. Gibson's Obituary
GIBSON, James R. “Jim”, aka “The Blaster,” age 65, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his residence.
Jim graduated from Waynesville High School, class of ’73. He worked nearly 40 years as a truck driver for Kendrick Motor Company in Lebanon and Columbia Oil (Lykins Energy). He was a member of the Silver Grove Baptist Church in Oregonia.
Ornery and generous of his time to others, Jim greatly enjoyed watching Reds baseball and spending time with his grandchildren. When he was younger, he was an avid bowler and played in a bowling league. Among many things, he will be remembered for how much he loved taking his family down to watch the WEBN fireworks in Cincinnati each year, 25 years in total.
He was preceded in death by his parents James A. Gibson and Alice Watrous. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Faye; two daughters Michelle (Nick) King and Brenda Gibson; four grandchildren Andrew, Mason, Madison, and Aaron; one brother Gary Gibson; sister Linda (Tom) Clark; and honorary family members Ronnie Slaven and his children Morgan and Adeline, and Kevin Brown.
The family will receive friends 2:00 - 4:00 PM Sunday, February 21 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A celebration of life service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Steve Tufts will be officiating the services. If desired, contributions may be made to the Silver Grove Baptist Church missions fund.
