James Smith's Obituary
SMITH, James E. age 87 of Waynesville passed away suddenly Thurs. Nov. 20, 2008 at Kettering Hospital. James was a WWII Air Force veteran and was a member of the Waynesville American Legion Post 615. A previous sheet metal worker at Kirk & Blum in Dayton, he later retired from GM. He greatly enjoyed working, fishing, spending time with his family, and playing Corn Hole. He was preceded in death by his wife V. Ruth in 2005 after 59 years of marriage and a brother Donald Smith. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Sherry (Gail) Cook and Trecia (Gary) Johnson both of Waynesville; four grandchildren Todd (Becky) Cook, Ryan (Lisa) Cook, Matt (Jennifer) Johnson all of Waynesville and Adam Johnson of Colorado; five great grandchildren Shelby and Griffin Cook, Carter Cook, and Grant and Abigail Johnson; four brothers Robert L. (Jean), Fred (Bea), Willie (Pansie) Smith all of Florida and George (Gay) Smith of TX; one sister Helen (Dorman) Burnside of Florida; and special friends Frank, Melba, Charlie, and Jane of Florida. Funeral Services 11 AM Mon. Nov. 24 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Pastor Bill Perry officiating. Burial Heritage Hills Memory Gardens.
