Janie B. Myers' Obituary
SANDERS-MYERS, Janie Belle was born to the late Claude Sr. and Viola Rippy on Jan. 10, 1919 in Peachland, NC. She was the second of 5 children, 3 of whom preceded her in death; Claude Rippy, Jr. (aka Jude), Ida Mae Sanders, and Hazeleen Brand. Her parents moved to Lebanon when she was in elementary school. Janie attended Lebanon Public Schools. In the late 1930’s Janie was joined in holy matrimony to George R. Sanders. They made their home in Harveysburg. This union produced nine children. George preceded her in death in 1968. Janie married the late Chester A. Myers in 1975. Together they often attended bible conventions and one could always find them playing bingo. Janie and Chester loved life and lived it to the fullest. Chester preceded her in death July 8, 2003. Janie had one son Alfred Claude, one daughter Shirley Jane, and one grandchild Jerome McMillian precede her in death. Janie leaves to cherish her memory: son, George E. Sanders (Willease); daughters, Rosemary Gordon, Lois J. Scott, Ophelia A. McClean (aka Phoebe), Hazel M. Middleton, Cherry T. Sanders, and Dolly P. Warren (Kenneth); one sister Ollie Rippy; 22 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 great great great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services 11 AM Fri. March 14 at STUBBS-CONNER FUNERAL HOME, Waynesville. Burial Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Fri. at the funeral home.
