Jennifer E. Stiles' Obituary
STILES, Jennifer E., age 80, of Waynesville, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital South.
Jenny graduated from Waynesville High School and earned an Associate’s Degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She worked as a substitute teacher for Wayne Local School District in Waynesville and the Warren County Career Center. Jenny always appreciated antiques, which she turned into an income by attending auctions, seeking out well-made pieces that she could restore, and selling them to customers who appreciated her talent in finding well-made pieces of art, restored to their original beauty. Always supportive of the Waynesville American Legion, Jenny was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 615.
Vibrant, bold, spirited, colorful, and creative, Jenny had an outgoing personality who greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies included playing cards with friends, participating in trivia at the Legion, flower gardening, DIY projects at home, oil painting, and enjoying music. While she was particularly fond of Elvis and traditional country, she loved dancing and having a good time anytime music set the vibe. Her friends and family will never forget how much fun she had at the Legion dancing with her husband and kids.
When her children were growing up, Jenny and Skip took the kids to Florida yearly, which became a fond tradition. As the years went by, Jenny and Skip continued taking yearly trips together, often to the East Coast of the United States, up to Michigan, and along the southern states. Jenny loved the ocean, so the trips often included a location that involved a beach. During the late summer and early fall, they traveled with friends to Clearwater, Florida, often taking a side trip to the Daytona 500 each year. She enjoyed collecting seashells on her trips, which she turned into picture frames and used as craft projects with her grandchildren. Her other fond traditions included making crepes and homemade jam on Thanksgiving morning and hosting family during Christmas Eve, complete with presents for everyone. In addition, she loved singing and dancing along to the “Stiles’ Band,” whereby the grandchildren performed for the adults, creating new tunes and songs with the instruments “Mimi” provided. Among many things, Jenny will be remembered for her endless support of her children's and grandchildren’s sports activities. She will also be remembered for her vibrant personality, especially when spending time with family and friends, particularly when someone played an Elvis tune, and with an added exuberance when enjoying one of her favorite cocktails.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Skip, in 2022; her parents, Leo and Dorothy Perry; and one sister, Pat Kallage. She is survived by three sons, Scott (Dawn) Stiles, Perry (Amanda) Stiles, and Brad Stiles; five grandchildren, Dagan Stiles, Drake Stiles, Peyton Riley Stiles (Kevin), Skylar (A.J.) Gillespie, and Ashtyn Stiles; one great-grandson, Jett; and one sister, Sherri (Rob) Stillwell.
A celebration of life service will be scheduled at the Waynesville American Legion Post 615 in the near future. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. If desired, contributions may be made to the Waynesville American Legion Post 615. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
