Jennifer "Jenny" S. Weaver's Obituary
WEAVER, Jennifer “Jenny” S., age 51, of Mt Orab and formerly of Georgetown, Ohio, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025.
Jenny graduated from Georgetown High School, class of ’91. Following high school, she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Xavier University and a master’s degree in public health safety from the University of Tennessee. She worked more than 10 years as a prevention educator for Clermont County Mental Health and Recovery, a few years as an analyst for Humana, and most recently, as a librarian assistant for the Brown County Public Library-Sardinia.
Family oriented, loving, kind, compassionate, giving, caring, selfless, politically minded, and highly intelligent, Jenny was just as beautiful in her soul as she was on the outside. She greatly enjoyed shopping trips for unique antiques. Always interested in literature, she enjoyed reading and writing and was currently in the middle of writing a novel. Jenny enjoyed many fond traditions, always involving family and friends. From about the time she graduated from college, Jenny and her family attended Broadway shows in Cincinnati. Season tickets allowed them to see many shows each year as they came for their stops at the Aronoff Center. With an affinity toward politics and history, her favorite show was Hamilton, though she also loved it whenever another of her favorites, Les Misérables, came to town. Jenny also enjoyed attending shows at the Ensemble Theatre, Know Theatre, and Playhouse in the Park in Cincinnati, La Comedia Dinner Theatre in Springboro, the Murphy Theatre in Wilmington, and the Sargent Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, where her daughter is currently studying costume design.
Jenny’s love of time with her family was clear in many cherished traditions, including getting together in the warmer months for shrimp boils and family cookouts, playing cards and word games, traveling to Gatlinburg and Disney World, and many road trips to Umatilla, Florida, to visit her in-laws. Since Jenny spent each Christmas in Umatilla with her in-laws, her side of the family celebrated together early each year at an event they officially proclaimed, “Fake Christmas.” Everyone gathered together for a weekend to shut the world out and pretend it was Christmas, including all of the normal festivities. It was such a treasured time for the family, Jenny’s daughter and several of her younger nieces and nephews assumed every family hosted a “Fake Christmas” each year. It became one of Jenny’s favorite traditions and something she looked forward to every December.
Among many things, she will be remembered for how much she enjoyed family picnics and trips to the zoo, parks, and museums. She also loved thrifting, collecting cute figurines and flip-flops, the latter of which resulted in an impressive collection.
Of course, she will be remembered most for her love of being a mom to her daughter, Evie, a wife to her husband, Paul, and her love of spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Wisby, and her grandparents, Vernon Napier and Idella Bauer. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Paul Weaver; daughter, Evie Weaver; her mother, Sharon Wisby; two sisters including her identical twin, Jackie (Harry) Amann, and younger sister, Melissa (David) Cabrera; grandmother, Joann Napier; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
