Jesse William Wells' Obituary
Jesse William WELLS of Clearwater, Florida, aged 86 years, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at his residence in the company of his loving family. An Army Veteran, Jesse had a passion for hard work. In 1948 he founded Wells Brothers Garbage Company which he grew into the largest privately owned trash pick-up business in Pinellas County, Florida. A native Floridian, Jesse enjoyed taking friends and family out on his fishing boats or exciting air boat rides through the Everglades. An avid orchid, flower, and citrus gardener as well as a world traveler to exotic and wild locations; he always came home to his little dogs. Philanthropic endeavors included supporting hungry children's groups. He was a member of the 100 Club, UPARC in Clearwater, and was active with the Festival of Trees Charities. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Catherine Wells, his two brothers; Tom and Doug, and his father-in-law John Gibson. He is survived by his wife, Deborah, of 33 years, daughter, Dawna (Bryan) Leeth; granddaughters Katherine and Brieawna; his mother-in-law Grace Gibson; niece Mindy (Dana) Beougher; nephew Stan Gibson; and special friends Fred Reynolds, Charlie Morgan, and Sweet Pea.
Funeral services are 2 PM Sunday, September 27 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
