Joan M. Honaker's Obituary
HONAKER, Joan M. age 85, of Waynesville, passed away Sat. Feb. 3, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton.
Joan graduated from Patterson Co-OP in Dayton. She was a faithful member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Waynesville. She retired from Wayne Local Schools in Waynesville after 22 years of serving students in the cafeteria. Prior to Waynesville, she worked 6 years for Kettering Schools.
She was an avid bowler and loved to travel. She traveled all over the U.S. and especially enjoyed her trips to Alaska and Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Whipp; more recently by her husband Edwin Honaker; one son Michael Whipp; her parents Omer and Clara Monnin; four brothers Howard, Roger, Jerry, and Ronald Monnin; and one sister Doris Neace. She is survived by her daughter Margie (Brian) Jones; daughter-in-law Sherry Whipp; step-daughters Bonnie (Chuck) Morton and Connie (Jon) Carman; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters Mary Borden, Lois Franke, and Diane (Chuck) Hatton; and sister-in-law Phyllis Monnin.
Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 PM Thurs. Feb. 8 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Waynesville. Father James Manning will the Celebrant. The family will receive friends 10:15 AM - 12 PM Thurs. at the church. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family.
