Joyce H. Lamb-Wilkerson's Obituary
LAMB-WILKERSON, Joyce H., age 78, of Waynesville, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at her residence.
Joyce's working career consisted of helping her brother in running Pat's Place in Waynesville for nearly 30 years. She was a member of the Harveysburg Full Gospel Church for most of her Christian life and also attended the Bethany Baptist Church in Clarksville for many years. Her faith in God was very important to her, as evident by her ability to quote the Bible inside and out to anyone at any time.
Kind, loving, giving, helpful, supportive, and open-minded were just some of the words used to describe Joyce. She was a very strong prayer warrior, that many would call upon in time of need. Some of her most favorite things to do were traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year, all that knew her knew her tree had to look like it was right out of a magazine. One of her highlighted trips was on her first airplane to Disney World years ago. When she married Wade, they visited 48 of the 50 states together over the years. In addition, she enjoyed family trips to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg yearly. She also enjoyed trips to Daytona, Florida, and Michigan to enjoy the high-energy thrills and sounds of NASCAR. Among many things, she will be remembered for her amazing strawberry cheesecake that her children often fought over and her soup beans and southern cornbread fresh from the cast iron skillet.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eddie Sr., in 1997 and her husband, Wade, in 2014; her parents Howard and Hazel Patrick; and her brother Verdis Patrick. She is survived by two sons Eddie (Tami) Lamb Jr. and Clifton (Janna) Lamb; daughter Kelly (Steve) Perdue; four grandchildren Mikah (Aaron) Vonasek, Braedon Lamb (fiancee Kelsey), Brooke Perdue, and Jayda Lamb; two great-grandchildren Arleann and Marek; sister-in-law Nancy Patrick; and close friends Tom and Wanda Chattin and along with many others.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 24 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Tom Chattin will be officiating the services. The family will receive friends 5-8 PM on Monday, August 23 at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice and/or the Alzheimer's Association.
