Joyce A. Sigler's Obituary
SIGLER, Joyce A., age 76, of Waynesville, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024.
Joyce graduated from Dunbar High School, class of ’67. For numerous years, she worked for SKS and PAC manufacturers. Recently she had been working seasonally at Kings Island and greatly enjoyed working there. She was a member of the Centerville Church of Christ. She volunteered in the Country Kitchen at Carriage Hill MetroPark and as a United States Air Force Museum tour guide.
She was an avid gardener. She grew gorgeous roses, especially knock-out and princess roses. For about six years, she was a member of the Lebanon Garden Club. Joyce had a passion for heirloom plants and had a natural green thumb. She also had fruit trees, and she enjoyed harvesting them. She enjoyed putting up fruits and vegetables and canning her harvest. Upon harvesting the fruit from her peach and cherry trees, she enjoyed cooking and baking the fruit into pies or cakes.
Joyce was strong-willed and very independent, but she was always concerned about others. She looked forward to all the family gatherings and always brought a pie or cake to share. Even though she didn’t have a family of her own, she took part in extended family gatherings. Every year, she faithfully attended her sister-in-law’s family reunions. She was a huge fan of the Beatles and loved Paul McCartney. Over the years, she collected several items of Beatles memorabilia. She had a soft spot for animals and rescued several from the Warren County Humane Society. Her well-known companions at home were her geese, goats, dog, and cats. Among many things, she was very proud of maintaining her immaculate home and raising beautiful plants.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Marvel Sigler, and one niece, LaVerne (Karl)
Kinton. She is survived by one brother, Charles (Judy) Sigler; nephew, Ernie (Cathy) Sigler; numerous great nieces and nephews; best friends, Shirley Turnbush, Mary Welsch, and Kathy Shutts; and neighbors, Orpha Purkey and Gary Coffman.
A memorial service will be held at 12 PM Saturday, January 18, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, 185 N Main Street, Waynesville, Ohio. Pastor Houston Haynes of Centerville Church of Christ will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, January 18, at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to the Warren County Humane Society or PAWS. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com
