Judith "Judy" E. Denny's Obituary
DENNY, Judith “Judy” E., age 77, of Wilmington, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Cape May Retirement Village in Wilmington.
Judy grew up on a family farm in Martinsville, Ohio, and graduated from Martinsville High School, class of ’62. Shortly after graduating high school, she married the love of her life, Charles, and moved to his family farm, where she lived for the rest of her life.
Kind, strong, devoted, caring, genuine, and always concerned for others, Judy was family-oriented and had a soft spot in her heart for animals. She cared deeply for all of her household pets, especially her favorite cat, Missy, the wildlife and backyard birds that often looked to her for a treat, and the horses that her daughter raised. She also greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, dining out, flower gardening, and taking trips with her husband in his airplane. They especially enjoyed the many trips by plane to West Virginia, Michigan, Lake Erie, St. Louis, and Urbana in Ohio. In addition, she loved shopping, visiting antique malls, attending the Ohio State Fair, and taking trips to add to her many items of interest. Attending the state fair with family was a favorite event for many years, and she even exhibited for a time for fun. It became a tradition for Judy to travel with her friend, Merica, or her sister, Joyce, to Amish Country, historical Williamsburg, and many other exciting locales over the years. She will be remembered for her artisan-style teddy bears, which she also collected and cherished.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in March of 2022; grandson, Daniel; her parents, Charles “Warren” and Flontine Terrell; one brother, James Terrell; two sisters, Phyllis and Beverly Terrell; and special friend, Merica Hughes. She is survived by three children, Martha (Anthony) Shambrock, David (Martha) Denny, and John Denny; six grandchildren, Joey Denny, Nathan Denny, Will Denny, Rachel Denny, Sarah Shambrock, and Jacob Shambrock; one sister, Joyce (Bill) Graesser.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, July 5, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Tuesday, July 5, at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to Clinton County Humane Society. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
