Judith "Judi" A. Collins' Obituary
COLLINS, Judith “Judi” A., age 62, of Hillsboro and formerly of Waynesville, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at Good Shepherd Village in Springfield.
Judi graduated in 2012 from the Rets Tech Center in Centerville with an associate degree in nursing. In 2020, she became the Director of Nursing for Promedica in Centerville (the current name is Legacy of Centerville). She was very proud of her corporate job with Comfort Keepers, where she was able to travel the United States and talk about the nursing field. She was extremely intelligent and loved taking care of others. She never had any regrets or second thoughts about her career. She attended the Stratford Heights Church of God in Middletown.
She loved helping others and would gladly take the clothes off her back for anyone in need. One of her favorite hobbies was drinking wine while enjoying quality time with friends and family. Her son, Jake, was her pride and joy. He graduated from The Ohio State University, which she had always celebrated. Judi loved watching Jake play football. Her life’s focus was her nursing career and her son. She was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Ohio State Buckeyes, which she would gladly cheer on during games. She had a feisty, loving personality, but was also very quiet in nature. She was the constant in her loved one’s lives. If she was called for help, she was always there. She would do anything for anyone, no matter what the situation was. She had a soft spot for dogs. Judi loved her coffee and could easily drink two to three pots of coffee a day. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and the overall atmosphere that surrounded that holiday. She always looked forward to decorating and buying people gifts. She always wanted her loved ones to be happy and wanted to go above and beyond for them. During the holiday season, she will be remembered for her chocolate chip cookies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Arnold, in 2010; and her parents, Winslow and Doris Collins. She is survived by her son, Jake Arnold (Emily Cushing); her closest friend, Kathy (Heath) McCoppin; and her dear friend, Mary (Robert) Hart.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1 PM - 4 PM on Saturday, February 10, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
