Judy Ann Roach Kronenberger Miller Vinson's Obituary
Judy Ann Roach Kronenberger Miller Vinson, age 83, of Centerville and formerly of Waynesville, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022, at Miami Valley Hospital. Judy was born to William Roach and Geneva Marie Schmidt in Dayton, Ohio.
After raising most of her children, Judy returned to school and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Sinclair Community College. In addition, she earned a Degree in Psychology from Capital University, which she was always proud of. She co-owned Miller Environmental with her second husband, Fred, and several other businesses and occupations. After working several years in different capacities for One Lincoln Place in Kettering, she ultimately retired as the move-in coordinator. However, her pride and joy in life was raising her seven children.
Loving, caring, helpful, giving, and independent, Judy was always hardworking, energetic, and business-minded. Described as a mother to all of her children’s friends, she welcomed all with open arms. She greatly enjoyed working puzzles, reading James Patterson novels, and cooking. She became the community cook and became known for her lasagna at Gabbard’s sports banquets. In addition, friends and family came to expect a crockpot of her famous barbecue always being on the counter during visits. Spending time with the kids during the Christmas holiday season became one of her most fond traditions. She involved the kids with construction paper decorations and an annual tradition of passing out the ornaments to be placed on the tree one at a time by each of the children. The tree was complete when Judy completed the decorations by placing the last ornament, the big red ball. In addition, two weeks before Christmas each year, she gathered the children to bake Christmas cookies. The cookies were then placed above the refrigerator to be saved for Christmas, upon which the children often found creative ways to sneak over the following two weeks. Years later, upon admission that the kids often broke the rules of waiting for Christmas, she responded with, “that’s why we always made so many each year.” Among many things, Judy will be remembered for her love of clocks, especially grandfather clocks, which she always enjoyed hearing the chimes.
She was preceded in death by both sets of her grandparents; her parents; stepson, David Vinson; stepdaughter, Theresa Jessup; husband, Frederick Miller, in 2001; and husband, Wallace Vinson, in 2015. She is survived by sons Ronald Kronenberger (Randy), Richard (Tina) Kronenberger, Roger Kronenberger, and Robert Kronenberger; daughters Shelly Kronenberger, Mindy (Brett) Heizer and Marie (John) Fox; longtime daughter-in-law, Terry Kronenberger; stepson, George Kenyon (Patty) Miller; stepdaughters, Catherine (John) Rauch, Francis Miller, Pamela (Bill) Minnish, Theresa (Bill) Duncan, and Margie (Terry) Turner; her brother, William Roach; sisters, Carol (Jerry) Hawker and Nancy Shepherd; 21 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 17, at the Waynesville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Heritage Hills Memory Gardens. Brian Blankenship will be officiating the services. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral Saturday at the church. If desired, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
