Keith A. Frasure's Obituary
Keith A. Frasure, age 81, of Lebanon and formerly of Waynesville, Troy, and Springboro, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Enclave of Springboro.
Keith was a 1962 graduate of Waynesville High School and later earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Georgetown University in Kentucky. During his high school years, Keith excelled in basketball, baseball, and track and was later elected to the Waynesville Athletic Hall of Fame for all three sports.
Keith dedicated much of his professional life to education, retiring from the Mad River School District, where he worked in electrical and maintenance services. Even in retirement, his skills and work ethic never faded, as he was widely known as a dependable handyman who could fix just about anything.
Faith played a central role in Keith’s life. He was a former minister at the Waynesville Church of Christ and remained deeply committed to his walk with God throughout his life. He was a devoted student of the Bible and a lifelong learner who continued taking courses at the community college well into adulthood. In recent years, Keith attended Springboro Christian Church and lived out his faith through service, generosity, and compassion for others. His favorite quote defined him: “I’m a disciple of our Lord Jesus Christ!”
Keith enjoyed traveling and especially cherished visiting national parks. Immediately after his marriage to Sybil five years ago, they shared a memorable three-week honeymoon exploring national parks. He had a strong interest in maps, geography, and historical references, and especially enjoyed taking his daughters to visit state capitol cities and touring the actual state capitol buildings across the country. Keith traveled extensively throughout his life, visiting most, if not all, of the continental 48 states. He also traveled internationally, visiting Japan with his daughter, Anne, and Israel with his daughter, Heather. Along with his wife, Julia, Keith lived in Mexico City for a year and in Coos Bay, Oregon, for a period of time.
Keith especially enjoyed assisting his family members, particularly his children, with renovation projects. Keith preferred to do all of the work himself rather than hire contractors, tackling entire renovation projects from start to finish with skill, care, and pride. Family was always a priority for Keith, and he took great joy in attending his grandchildren’s activities, especially when they were participating in sports.
Those who knew Keith would describe him as humble, caring, friendly, talkative, and giving. He never met a stranger and was known for his warmth and generosity. Above all else, Keith was most proud of his walk with God and his family. Family traditions were important to Keith, especially the annual trips to Cave Run Lake with his wife, Sybil, a tradition they enjoyed together for the past five years.
Keith was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Julia, in 2019, and his parents, Walter and Beulah Frasure.
He is survived by his spouse of five years, Sybil; his two daughters, Heather (Dan) Beckstedt and Anne (Chris) Loubier; three grandchildren, Zachary (Danielle) Barber, Benjamin (Madison) Barber, and Brooks Loubier; a great-grandson, Hayes, with one additional great-grandchild on the way; and his brothers, James (Joyce) Frasure, Jerry (Sharon) Frasure, and Mark (Betsy) Frasure. Keith is also survived by Sybil’s family, including two sons, M. Scott (Michele) Hayes and Dustin (Kimberly) Hayes; one daughter, Heather (Dan) Hodson; and twelve grandchildren, Sarah (Matthew) Skinner, Chelsi (Alex) Sempsrott, Brody (Abby) Wolf, Austin (Lauren) Wolf, Colton (Addison) Wolf, Dawson Wolf, Easton Wolf, Phoenix Wolf, Anthony Hayes, Savannah Hayes, Kyler (Alex) Hodson, and Hallie (McKenzie) Hamilton; and 10 loved great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville, with Pastor Wayne Mock officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at https://www.stubbsconner.com.
