These are only a few to come to mind . . .
He and Ruthanna made so many positive contributions to Waynesville schools in the 1960s related to building baseball diamonds, a football field and track, and throughout their lives gave 100% support to our Country Fair where kids found so much fun.
Kenneth's Waynesville Athletic Hall of Fame acceptance speech for his basketball and baseball skills will likely be the most prized memory, those four words: " I was the greatest . . ."
He and brother Jerry coached Bo and I for several years in baseball as youngsters, far too many 'learning situations' to share here, let's just say that after we made an error his critique was short and to the point but also quite spirited and clearly memorable!
The king of euchre, he could play like no other . . . taught many of us some expensive lessons! :)
In Knothole baseball as an umpire, he was the best; he knew baseball better than most and loved being out on the field watching his grandkids play the sport. There was always a 'right way' to play the game; he was more that willing to share how to make this a reality.
Finally, he loved Waynesville, our WHS Alumni dinners and was very proud of his family.
Our heartfelt condolences to Connie Anne, Barbara Jo & Bo and their families and to Kenneth's siblings for their loss. Until we meet again . . .
