Larry E. Gillum's Obituary
GILLUM, Larry E., age 74, of Lebanon, passed away Mon. Sept. 16, 2019 at his residence. He was born July 6, 1945 to Ned and Jewell Gillum in Burke, Kentucky.
Larry worked at GM as an electrical engineer and retired after more than 30 years of service. He was a trustee and a faithful member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Waynesville.
A good Christian gentleman with exceptional moral character, Larry was gentle, loving, and always uplifting to others. He was very intelligent, yet down to earth and humble. He greatly enjoyed fishing at Lake Waynoka and at the pond of his good friend, Ray Smith, vegetable gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. His favorite pastime included the many trips he and his wife would take to Topsail Island in North Carolina. He was known to stroll the beach looking to add to his collection of shark teeth.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy; two sons Larry (Teresa) Gillum and Shawn (Debbie) Gillum; six grandchildren Brenna (Brew) Turner, Emily Gillum, Livia Gillum, Jacob Gillum, Colby Gillum, and Brooke Gillum; great grandson Levi; one brother Roger (Saundra) Gillum; and two sisters Letha (Noel) Ison and Hildreth (Edgar) Pennington.
Funeral services 1 PM Sat., Sept. 21 at the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Tim Noble and David Dixon will be officiating the services.
