Laurie Anne Dunkin's Obituary
DUNKIN, Laurie Anne age 54, of Wilmington, Ohio, and formerly of Waynesville, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at her home.
Laurie graduated from Waynesville High School, class of '85. She attended the Warren County Career Center with a focus in nursing and worked at Quaker Heights. After high school, she worked as the bar manager at La Comedia dinner theatre in Springboro, furthering her love for expression. She then played a significant role at Seitz & George in Dayton as an office manager before moving toward social work later in life. Always curious, she kept herself busy with craft projects at home. She had a green thumb and loved growing plants indoors and out.
Laurie loved hunting for treasures at garage sales and couldn't pass a great bargain. With her keen sense of detail and her discerning mind, Laurie could see the potential in anything. She appreciated good food and loved to share it with people in her life. She had an offbeat sense of humor and often uplifted everyone around her. Although she rarely shared, Laurie enjoyed writing poetry. She loves music and relished a game of cards or Scrabble. She was happy talking with friends and friends over a cup of hot coffee. Among many things, Laurie will be remembered for the love she had for her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Carl and Mary Kinsel and Odis and Thelma Cook. She is survived by her two sons Chris and Michael Dunkin; two daughters Mary and Lilli Dunkin; her two granddaughters Dahlia and Beatrix Dunkin; her parents Susan and Frank Turner; one sister Jamie (Keith) Gabbard; and special friend Tonya Couch.
Funeral Services will be held 1 pm Thursday, November 11, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Life celebrant Katie Mackoway will be officiating. Burial will be at Miami Cemetery in Corwin. The family will receive friends from 11 am-1 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
