Lawrence L. Patterson's Obituary
PATTERSON, Lawrence L., age 80, of Waynesville, passed away Wed., Jan. 8, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton. Lawrence was born in Summers County, WV to John and Mary Patterson.
Lawrence worked in the floor covering industry for 40 years before ultimately retiring from Ace Hardware in Lebanon. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waynesville, where he served as a deacon for many years.
Funny and often ornery, Lawrence liked to pull little pranks on people for fun. He also took pride in working hard over the years. He greatly enjoyed hunting, riding ATV’s, playing croquet in the evenings with his neighbors, and watching western movies. Over the years, he also enjoyed his annual hunting trips to West Virginia, and a few years to Colorado, that always coincided with the Thanksgiving holiday and some wood splitting mixed in. In recent times, he couldn’t help but to look forward to being reunited with his wife in Heaven.
He was preceded in death by his wife Norma in 2016; his parents; two brothers James and Fred Patterson; and three sisters Bonnie Fridley, Juanita Treadway, and Mary Patterson. He is survived by one son Greg (Diana) Patterson; daughter Teresa Patterson; five grandchildren Justin Dains, Joshua (Emily) Patterson, Jordon (Kelsey) Deters, Samantha Dains, and Tanner Patterson; two great grandchildren Riley and Jax; one brother Glen (Sue) Patterson; and one sister Wanda (Tom) Chattin.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Mon., Jan. 13 at the First Baptist Church in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Pastor Dale McCloud and Pastor Tom Chattin will be officating.
