Leroy Ramsey's Obituary
RAMSEY, Leroy, age 77, of Waynesville, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021.
Leroy retired from Dayton Walther Corporation after 30 years of service. He went back to work and worked another 10 years or so for Dayton Progress before retiring again. He attended Oak Creek Worship Center in Kettering.
Tender-hearted, quiet, caring, loving, and friendly, Leroy was best known for his love of music. He participated in several groups over the years, playing the mandolin, guitar, banjo, and fiddle. While he preferred bluegrass gospel music, he will be remembered the most for playing and singing Tell Me His Name Again and The Gloryland March. He enjoyed carpentry work occasionally, even adding on to his own home one year. Among many things, he will be remembered for his love of taking his family to Gatlinburg on a yearly basis. He also visited the western part of the United States and the state of Maine with his wife some years ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leland and Mafrey Ramsey and one brother Lyndon Ramsey. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gilda; daughter Angela Croucher; two grandchildren Douglas Croucher (fiancée Michala) and Andrew Croucher; one brother Marcus (Peggy) Ramsey; two sisters Louise (Carl) Chaney and Kim Preston; and sister-in-law Shirley Ramsey.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, February 6 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
