Linda L. Conley's Obituary
Conley, Linda L., age 83, of Waynesville, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital.
Linda retired as a Dietary Aide for St. Leonard Living Community in Centerville after nearly 20 years of service. She was a faithful member and former treasurer of the Waynesville Community Church (formerly First Baptist Church).
Caring, sweet, giving, helpful, friendly, and faithful, Linda was intelligent and always worried about the needs of others. While the kids were growing up, the family enjoyed regular camping trips at Hickory Hills in Highland County. Linda also enjoyed family reunions, playing Rook and Pinochle cards, watching Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud in the evenings, and attending church activities. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed spiritual based fiction and nonfiction. She surrounded herself with books, often asking her son to pick up the latest Karen Kingsbury book, and found comfort in having reading material available in her home. She was also a big Cincinnati Reds fan and planned her days around the baseball schedule so she could watch or listen to the games. Of course, the holidays were celebrated at her home, which she always looked forward to. Visits from her great-granddaughters often created excitement and energy for Linda, who she adored, which became obvious by the way she doted on them. Among many things, she will be remembered for her delicious chicken and dumplings and fried chicken that she enjoyed making for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orva, in 1991; her parents, Ernest and Marjorie Garrison; and three brothers, Ernest, Ronnie, and Russell Garrison. She is survived by two sons, Dale and Jerry Conley; grandson, Dale (Hunter) Conley Jr.; and two great granddaughters, Sophia and Rylee.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the Waynesville Community Church. Dale McCloud will be officiating the services. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Tuesday at the Waynesville Community Church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
