Lowell L. Prickett's Obituary
PRICKETT, Lowell Lester, age 78, of Waynesville passed away after losing a battle with cancer on Nov. 25, 2009. He was born the third son of the late Harold and Imogene Prickett in Lynchburg on Jan. 26, 1931. He graduated from New Vienna High School. He loved sports, basketball, baseball, and track. He was in FFA, 4H, and band. He spent his early years farming and then working for NCR. With a great love for horses, he trained and raced harness horses for 55 years with the help of his family and friends. He was a member of the Waynesville First Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by two brothers Harold Lane and Eugene Prickett. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Starbuck) Prickett, who he married June 14, 1951; two sons James L. (Judy) of Waynesville and Thomas L. (Kathy) of Wilmington; granddaughter Pamela (Sam) Bailey of Waynesville; two great grandchildren Tazzden and Tazzaray Bailey; one step granddaughter Jackie (Jason) Hershman; two step great grandsons Caleb and Logan Hershman; three sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services 2:30 PM Mon. Nov. 30 at the Waynesville First Church of Christ. Bob Jones officiating. Burial Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington. The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Sun. at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville.
