Lucinda Walters' Obituary
WALTERS, Lucinda, age 83, of Oregonia, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023, at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Lucinda worked for more than 20 years for Kings School District, retiring in 2003. In addition, she worked for Town & Country Dry Cleaning in Lebanon; she was a waitress at Lebanon Frisch’s and WigWam on Route 350. She was also a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Clarksville.
Growing up, she had a favorite pony, Scout, which she used to ride. She also had a soft spot for her cat, Fana. As a social butterfly, she always smiled and loved the attention a grand entrance would give her when she arrived late. Traveling around in the RV with her husband, Arnie, was one of her favorite things. They would take off for weeks at a time. She also really enjoyed working in her flower gardens and vegetable gardens. She would help Arnie can all the different vegetables and fruit from their property. Paint Creek provided many memories over the years, especially regarding fishing. She had a unique talent for being a fantastic cook and baker. Lucinda collected owls and Indian/ Aztec figurines, which she proudly displayed throughout her house. She was very proud of her children no matter their flaws and enjoyed razzing them. Her most immense joy came from her church family and being able to attend with her daughter, Diana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold “Arnie,” in 2021; father, Carl William Barnes; mother, Jane (Elmo) Murray; and one brother, Wayne Wilmot. She is survived by two sons, Rick (Deb) Blankenship and Clint (Shannon) Blankenship; two daughters, Vicki (Desi) Taulbee and Diana Arnold; 10 grandchildren, Deborah, Ricky, Samantha, Shane, Rachael, Brittany, Jessica, Glenn, Benjamin, and Aaron; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenny Wilmot; and sister-in-law whom she dearly loved, Linda Wilmot.
A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Saturday, August 12, at Bethany Baptist Church in Clarksville. Tim Bradshaw will be officiating. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. If desired, contributions may be made to Bethany Baptist Church. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
