Mabel Baker's Obituary
BAKER, Mabel (Aikman, Ellis), age 81 of Bellbrook, born to Laurance and Opal Aikman at home on March 6, 1931 to a family of six wonderful brothers and sisters, passed away Sun. May 27, 2012. She raised four daughters, Jane (Steve) Stewart, Susan (Steve) Williamson, Debra (Rick) Ruble, and Patti Ellis and four step children Gary Baker, Bev (Mike) Barrett, Patti (John) Shoemaker, and Dan (Sheila) Baker. She has loved 28 grandchildren and welcomed 25 great grandchildren, enjoying every minute she had with them. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister, husbands Chester Ellis and Harold Baker, and daughter Jane. She has been a member of Crossview Christian Church in Waynesville for 50 years. In 1974, she began teaching a young class at church and she became that extra grandma to a large group of children. Over the years, Mabel opened her beautiful farm to family, friends, and the church to create lasting memories in people's lives. She leaves behind a large family, friends that reach all over, and a wonderful group of ladies close to home that have been her loving support for the last several years. Her visitation will be 5-8 PM Tues. at Crossview Christian Church 4237 Social Row Rd, Waynesville. Funeral services 3 PM Wed. at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville is serving the family.
