Marie Fox's Obituary
FOX, Marie, age 87, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 at her residence. She was born March 14, 1933 to Lee and Sarah Ingram in Jackson County, Kentucky.
Marie retried from Ehrlich’s Grocery in Lebanon in the late ’70’s after 10 years of working in the meat department. She also worked as a secretary for many years with her husband at Ray Fox Construction.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Over the years, Marie and her husband traveled from church to church, Ray playing the guitar while she sang.
Hardworking, determined, friendly, classy, and respectful, Marie was reserved yet outgoing. She had an inseparable love for her spouse, and they were rarely apart. She enjoyed assisting her husband with his hobby of restoring several classic cars. In addition, they traveled to nearly all of the 50 states in the United States, with some of the trips out west being her favorite. While on those trips, she started collecting salt and pepper shakers, which resulted in quite an impressive collection. She also collected cookie jars and other glassware. She also looked forward to the many trips to Kentucky for her and her husband’s family reunions each year. Among many things, she will be remembered for her delicious apple stack cakes and banana pudding.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Chester, Ralph, and Earl Ingram; and three sisters Alice Bellamy, Maudie Scott, and Hazel Purkey. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ray; Godchildren Jeff and Alice Kilburn; three brothers Herschel, Homer, and Boyd Ingram; and special long-time friend and caregiver Pam (Ed) Creech.
A graveside service will be held 12 PM Wednesday, May 13 at Miami Cemetery in Corwin. Jeff Kilburn and Greg Lantus will be officiating. The family will receive friends 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM Wednesday at the cemetery. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. The family would like to thank Queen City Hospice for all of their special care and contributions may be made to Queen City Hospice. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
