Marie Lucille Mai Furey's Obituary
With heavy hearts, the family of Marie Lucille Mai Furey, announces her passing on April 14, 2024.
Mom’s final moments were spent peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her.
Known for her quick wit and lightening fast comebacks, "Lu" was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important...Faith, Family and Friends.
Mom loved her time in St Augustine, FL, snow birding with our Dad. The family took turns joining them in the sun and loved being pampered with blueberry pancakes in the morning and trips to the Oasis in the evening.
Mom loved cheering on her favorite team, the Buffalo Bills, beating us at Wordle and visits from her beloved grand and great-grandchildren, long talks with her out of town family and friends and enjoying her back porch on Bear Ridge Rd.
Mom’s love of the Catholic rosary brought her through many difficult losses. Her years of unwavering belief and trust in the Lord set a strong example for her children, that with faith, life does go on.
The family wishes to express so much appreciation for mom's care by The Hospice of Dayton, especially Jen, Rocky, Steve, Dr. Cass and any other Hospice team member that visited and enjoyed a conversation with her. Thank you!
Although our hearts are heavy, we find so much comfort in knowing she is reunited with our Dad and other family members.
We are confident that Dad met Mom at the pearly gates with a twinkle in his eyes and a jolly, what took you so long Lucille?!
A Catholic Mass and celebration of Mom’s life will be held at Good Shepherd Church, in Pendleton, NY. Date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers and for your consideration,
St. Judes Hospital for Children.
