Marilyn S. Brackney's Obituary
BRACKNEY, Marilyn S., age 54, of Centerville, passed away Sun. March 31, 2019 at Hospice of Butler/Warren County.
Marilyn graduated from Springboro High School, class of ’83. She then attended Kettering College of Medical Arts, where she graduated in 1985 with a degree in X-Ray Technology. She studied further to specialize in Nuclear Medicine Technology. She has worked the past 34 years at Kettering Hospital in the Nuclear Medicine Department (PET).
Always positive and upbeat, Marilyn had a strong faith in God. Although she was somewhat reserved, she was extremely caring to others and was serious about her work. She loved to keep things organized and add to her scrapbook. She also loved to travel with family and friends, especially on cruises. Aside from the many cruises, her most memorable adventures included a trip to Hawaii and a trip out west to Yellowstone National Park and to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. In addition, she greatly enjoyed visiting the Montgomery Inn whenever she wanted to treat herself. Her favorite pastime however, was spending time with her young nephew, Luke, which she did almost every day upon leaving work.
She was preceded in death by one nephew Nathan Haacke. She is survived by her parents George and Dorothy Brackney; her sister Karen (Todd) Haacke; nephew Luke Haacke; her aunt Linda (Mike) Baker; and numerous close friends and co-workers.
