Sorry to hear of Marilyn's death, but she's with Gene now and much happier as I'm sure she missed him. I enjoyed volunteering at Glendower with Marilyn and her sense of humor made the time there fun! Liz Morris
The Slorp Family was & is a phenomenal family that we ( Beth & Leslie " Stokes " ) were lucky to meet when we first moved to Lebanon, Ohio so many, many, many years ago. One of the MAJOR reasons that the family was as wonderful as it was, was because of Mr & Mrs Slorp----Gene & Marilyn. Beth & I were kids, with our parents going thru a divorce at the time, when we first moved to Lebanon, Ohio out there on Route#48. Through church activities and the 4H Club, the Slorps became like a second family to my sister and I. EVERYONE was ALWAYS at The Slorps or Sniders house! Route #48 was the place to live! Marilyn was ALWAYS there with a laugh ( oh she was funny! ), a kind word, a baked goodie, advice, wisdom, patience, level headedness, thoughtfulness, compassion and ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS a person you could talk to. One of the friendliest people I have ever met in my life. Those characteristics NEVER changed with her-----She was always the same: from the time I first met her when I was 6 years old to the last time I saw her when I was 63. All through the years, she remained the same. A true friend, who LOVED ya no matter what! Marilyn & Gene will remain in my heart forever. Marilyn made a difference in my life and for that my dear, dear Mrs. Slorp, I will ALWAYS be grateful. With much, much, much love----Leslie " Stokes " DeVoe
To Libby, Sara, Danny and your families: After 70 years together, and just 10 weeks apart, Marilyn has joined Gene in that Better Place! They had a wonderful life together here on earth; raising a wonderful family and gaining many friends along the way.
You all can be Very Proud of the lives they both lived!
And what a blessing; they both got to meet and hold their first great grandson - Theodore George Stegemoller! (Those pictures were GREAT!)
Hold each other tight and always remember those good years you all had together!
With Much Love,
The Don Tevis Family
Thoughts and prayers are with Daniel, Libby and Sara. So sorry for your loss of your parents. May God hold you all in his hands and give you comfort for all your memories.
