Mary Frances Hartsock's Obituary
Mary Frances Hartsock (88) was born in Dayton, Ohio, on December 8, 1934. She passed peacefully from this life on August 21st, 2023. She was the sole surviving daughter of James & Barbara Hartsock. Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara; her eight brothers: Joe, Jim, David, Dan, George, Tom, John, and Billy; and her mother and father.
She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Greg and Sapphira Scott Of Chinle, AZ, Alan and Sherry Scott of Atlanta, GA, and her daughter and son-in-law, Scott and Lynn Witt of Lebanon, IN. Mary had nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a large family of in-laws, nieces, and nephews that she loved greatly.
Mary lived in various states across the United States but always called Waynesville home, and graduated from Waynesville High School (Class of ‘52). She raised her sons and daughter in the Ferry Church of Christ, now Crossview Christian Church, and always considered Ferry her home church.
Mary loved singing harmony and playing the organ and piano, especially music that honored God. She loved to laugh and play Rook with her family. Mary made friends everywhere; she had never met a stranger. She loved helping other people, serving others, and serving God. Her “Johnny Knows It” casserole was well known at church potluck meals. Mary was and IS forever grateful for Jesus’ love and grace toward her.

Friends may gather at 10:30 a.m. with a celebration of life service beginning at 11 a.m. in the church’s Great Room at 4237 Social Row Rd., Waynesville, OH.
