Mary F. Lawrence's Obituary
LAWRENCE, Mary Frances (neé Settles) age 86, of Franklin and formerly of KY, passed away Mon. Jan. 2, 2107. Mary was born August 12-1930 to Alvin and Sarah Settles. She was a dedicated member of the Pilot Oak Baptist Church for many years. A singer in the church choir, and a prized cook at her church homecoming dinners. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A strength and shelter to all, she was the best cook in the world and to her family. She was also the absolute best at mending her grandchildrens' hurts. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John Thomas Lawrence; her three sons James Thomas Lawrence, Larry Andrew Lawrence, and Carl Wade Lawrence; daughter-in-law Ellamae Lawrence; her parents Sara Elizabeth (Scott) Settles and Alvin "Buddy" Settles; two sisters Margaret Limberger and Marie (Edmond) Watts; grandfather Athie T. Settles, whom she was very close to; grandmother Lizzie; and brother-in-law Thomas Sergerson. She is survived by four grandchildren James Thomas Lawrence Jr (Kendra), Shawn Clifton Lawrence (Karla), Christel Dawn Jones, and Elissa L. Lawrence; daughter-in-law Sharon Lawrence; nephew David Vitello, who she raised as a child; sister Janie Sergerson; brother Charles Ray Settles; three great grandchildren Shawn, Samantha, and Kayla; many nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services 1 PM Tues. Jan. 10 at Lighthouse Harbor Church, Lebanon. Jeff Isaacs will be officiating. Burial will be in Sabina Cemetery.
